"The food of the future, in an internationally standardized green industrial park: GBI Halal & Green Food Industrial Park, a strategic export gateway on the Andaman coast, driving the food industry with 100% clean energy."

Connecting Thailand to the World's Halal Kitchen: ASEAN's first low-carbon smart food industrial park integrates innovative circulating cold storage to boost export value to the Middle East and global markets by over 50 billion baht per year.

Project Information

  • Project Name : Special Project: Smart Halal & Green Food Industrial Park for Global Export (Ranong-Chumphon) Under the supervision of Golden Bridge International Holding (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (GBI Holding)
  • Target Customers :
Tenant Groups : Leading Thai food processing and agricultural companies and multinational corporations (MNCs) seeking international halal production standards
Target Markets : The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the broader Middle East, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, as well as Muslim-majority countries in ASEAN (Indonesia, Malaysia) and global markets seeking high safety food standards
  • Principles and Rationale :
According to the latest reports from 2026, Bangkok and Thailand have been recognized as the best food destination in Asia (Best Food Destination in Asia 2026). This, combined with the rapidly growing demand for halal food in global markets, presents an opportunity to create a new generation halal food industrial park. This park will not only focus on religious standards but also integrate clean energy and cold energy recovery from our liquefied gas supply chain into cold storage systems, resulting in the lowest carbon footprint foods in the world.

Objectives :
1. To establish the largest modern and environmentally friendly halal food industrial park in the ASEAN region
2. To add value to Thailand's agricultural and livestock products through high-value food processing innovations
3. To expand Thailand's food export capabilities, connecting seamlessly to the Middle East and global markets

Target Goals :
Development Targets : Develop the first halal food industrial park on a strategic location to accommodate 50-80 smart food processing factories
Commercial Targets : Attract direct foreign investment (FDI) and create a combined value of at least 50,000 million baht per year in halal food exports and premium processed food exports within 5 years of operation

Requirements :
Global Halal Standards : All factories and production processes in the park must pass strict halal certification (Halal Integrity) and supply chain separation (Supply Chain Separation) from contaminants according to religious principles
Green Infrastructure : Mandatory use of clean electricity from CCPP power plants (Siemens Energy tickets) and renewable energy systems, along with utilizing waste cold energy from our liquefied gas supply chain to drive industrial cold storage systems (Centralized Eco-Cold Chain) to reduce tenants' electricity costs
Environmental Management : Wastewater and industrial food waste treatment systems must be circular (Circular Bio-Economy), recycling water and converting food waste into bioenergy (Biogas) within the park

Location/Area :
Located on a strategic allocation within the Customs Free Zone of the Golden Bridge project in Kapho District, Ranong Province, connecting seamlessly to the port of Ranong and Ranong International Airport for maximum efficiency in transporting perishable goods to global markets.

Budget :
  • Investment Budget for Infrastructure, Centralized Cold Storage, Cargo Handling Facilities, and Smart Logistics Systems (Turnkey EPC Layout) : Approximately 12,000 million baht (based on Thai baht currency reference)

Timeline :
  • Development Timeline for Phase 1 Infrastructure : 18 - 24 months (coordinated with the construction of main utilities for the Golden Bridge project)
  • Commercial Operations Timeline : Initial tenant onboarding expected to begin in 2028-2029

Responsible Parties :
GBI Holding (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is a joint venture with a global strategic partner from the Middle East (Thai ownership ratio: 51%; foreign ownership ratio: 49%), under the policy oversight of the Ministry of Industry and the Halal Institute of Thailand.

Expected Outcomes :
1. Thailand has truly become the "Halal Kitchen of the World," with its hub located on the Andaman coast.
2. This has created more than 20,000 jobs and income opportunities for farmers and skilled workers in the southern region and throughout the country.
3. This project will be structured financially as a recurring income asset (High-Yield Recurring Income Asset), aligning with the investment structure of the AWreit&co Group, attracting large institutional investors (Sovereign Wealth Funds) from the Middle East who are seeking investments in food security infrastructure.
